Monday
Harper wonders where Dana is. Bronte repeats the story that she told Irene, claiming that Dana has gone away for a few days. Xander hasn't heard from her either, but it strikes him as odd that she'd tell Bronte she was leaving and not he and Harper. Later, Xander tells Alf that he can't shake the feeling she's not okay.
Bronte can hardly believe her luck when Leah's $25,000 clears into her account, but Irene's bank hasn't released her funds yet. Bronte lies that there's one place left in the clinical trial or else she has to wait six months, time she likely doesn't have. Moved, Irene says she'll phone the bank and try to hurry up the transfer.
Xander is still worried about Dana when Bronte tells him she has just heard from her – claiming that she finally apologised and she has gone to a silent retreat. Xander queries that she would go somewhere and voluntarily give up her phone, and later wonders if anyone would even call a landline these days.
Bronte tells Chase on the phone that she's waiting for Irene's money before she cuts and runs – she has come too far to give up now.
Meanwhile, Cash ponders a future at Mangrove River when Felicity enters – she's been on a date with Rory, and they waste no time retreating to her room to "get to know each other". He and Eden head to hers, but he notes he's glad to see his sister happy. Alone together, Eden encourages him to take the job.
However, after Eden talks to Alf about the down and out suburb, she's turned off enough to tell Cash not to take the job. He thinks he should find out why the last officer left, and after he does some digging, he discovers the cop he'd be replacing was murdered. Eden hopes this means he's not taking the job, but he says he's still thinking about it. Is Cash pondering a career move that could put him in danger?
Tuesday
Alf advises Xander to seek answers from Bronte as to Dana's whereabouts, while Irene and Leah offer a last-ditch plan to pay for her treatment – they'll donate all the proceeds from the Diner to help her reach her crowdfunding goal.
Bree finds it odd that Dana never mentioned any retreat, and John is concerned when she misses the start of her patrol. As Xander begins to twig that he's being lied to, Dana is far away, trapped alone in a locked shipping container out in the bush as she screams for somebody to help her.
Those screams are only heard by Chase though, who shows no signs of sympathy to his prisoner as he waits for Bronte to come through with Irene's money.
At the Diner, Bronte learns that the transfer has come through – she now has $50,000 in the bank. But when Irene and Leah show her how much they could raise for her in a week, she's sorely tempted to stay and grab the cash.
At Salt, Bree overhears John and Xander talking, and admits to them that she searched for Bronte's non-existent medical records. As the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, the three go to Rose with everything they know, and she decides it's worth asking a few questions of Bronte.
At Irene's, Bronte lies again about when she last spoke to Dana and where she's seeking treatment, and Rose confronts her with the news that her records don't exist. Just as they're getting close though, Bronte fakes a dizzy spell, and Rose decides to leave her while she investigates the latest lie that Bronte has told.
When Xander and John see the crook driving Irene's car, though, they see little option and decide to follow, eventually tracking her to a quarry in the middle of nowhere. As they follow the dirt road, Dana finally outsmarts Chase and escapes her shipping container prison. With her captor in hot pursuit, will she make it to help before he catches her?
Wednesday
Irene is shocked when Bree reports that Dana is missing and that Rose is investigating Bronte for fraud. Away from the Bay, Dana hides in the bush, with Chase steadily closing in on her. Bronte arrives to find the shipping container empty, and she's not happy to realise their prisoner has escaped – especially as she knows too much.
John and Xander are in hot pursuit, and they know all is not well when they hear the fraudsters calling Dana's name. John calls Rose to report that they've found her, while Xander runs into the quarry estate, determined to find his girlfriend before Bronte does.
As police sirens approach, Dana runs into Xander's arms while John stops her captors from leaving by standing in front of their vehicle. The police have arrived, and when Bronte tries to escape on foot, Rose tackles her to the ground – noting that Bronte is moving pretty fast for someone who's dying.
At the police station, Dana questions how Xander could have disbelieved her this whole time, while a smug Bronte gloats even under police escort that Dana's loved ones all chose her side. Leah updates Irene that Dana is safe and Bronte has been arrested, and she heads straight to the station where she confronts her scammer.
When taken to task though, Bronte taunts her victim and brands Irene "a gullible old woman". As she's taken for processing, Irene is completely shattered.
Dana takes a hard line with Xander – telling him that she can't be with him right now as he didn't have her back. She does forgive Irene, though. Dana tells Irene that she's a good person and she'll need to forgive herself too.
Meanwhile, Kirby and Bree catch up post-surf. Kirby can tell her friend is missing her ex. Later, she clocks the chemistry between them when Remi asks Bree to join them for lunch, and she quickly forms a plan – she tells Theo that they're going to get Remi and Bree back together.
They invite the two for a drink that night, and when their friends don't turn up, Remi and Bree quickly realise the ploy – agreeing that they've been set up. But what are they going to do about it?
Thursday
Levi's playful as he flirts with Mackenzie, but she insists that he needs his rest after the stabbing. With Mali and Tane out of the house though, she worries that her housemates are avoiding the loved-up couple. She points out that her housemates are like family and she doesn't want to push them away.
Later, Levi visits Mac at work and realises Eden must have known he was in hospital. Mac decides he needs to know – Eden works for her now, and Levi is miffed that his sister still won't even speak to him. That afternoon, Mackenzie takes a phone call from her brother, Dean. She's shocked to learn that he's coming to visit.
Meanwhile, Remi and Bree plot payback for Kirby and Theo, and they toast to pranking their well-meaning friends. Kirby comes grovelling the next day with an apology, but unbeknownst to her, Bree is waiting for Remi in bed. Later, the renewed couple agree to keep their romantic reunion a secret – Bree's not ready for a thousand questions, and Remi agrees.
Elsewhere, Tane and Harper review the participants for the youth programme, and he thanks her for taking him this far. She can't think of anyone better to help these young offenders change their lives. They meet the boys, and Tane has his work cut out for him with one in particular, who hits on Harper and starts conflict with another one of the young men.
Tane is forced to break up the fight, and Harper accidentally cops a fist to the face. Tane starts to doubt the programme after the bad start, but Harper buoys him and reminds him that these boys need his help.
Before long, one of the participants, Perri, has returned to the club to tell Tane that his peers were out of line today. He asks whether Tane can really teach him self-defence. Tane's face lights up as he realises he can make a difference in at least one kid's life.
Friday
Tane bonds with Perri, the participant from his youth programme, and introduces him to the basic principles of self-defence. They spend the day together, and Alf is proud when he sees Tane at the club.
Mali is back from his visit home. Levi is determined to make an effort, insisting on catching up before Mali has even unpacked. When Mackenzie mentions that Dean is coming for a visit, he thinks it's a good thing, but she insists it's more complicated than that. Levi wonders what this means, and Mali admits that he doesn't think Dean will be a big fan of how they first got together.
At Salt, Mackenzie admits she hasn't kept Dean in the loop – on her heart attack, or her affair with her married heart surgeon, who just got stabbed. She decides that she'll visit Dean instead to lay some groundwork, and with Tane moving back in, the stage is set for quality bonding between Levi, Mali and Tane.
Meanwhile, Cash continues to ponder the Mangrove River posting and can't stop thinking about getting justice for the officer who was murdered. Reluctantly, Eden gives him her blessing – she won't get in the way of him doing the right thing.
Felicity is enjoying being in the early throes of a new love affair, and even seeing Tane while she's with her new beau can't bring her back down to earth. Cash considers getting to know Rory, just in case it's turning into something serious.
Later, Cash interrogates Rory, who makes a hasty retreat with Felicity. At Mantaray Boards, he checks in with Mali over the surfboard he's waiting on and lets him know what design he's after. Rory asks for it to read "Blood & Sand".
When Rory is with Felicity, he's interrupted by a phone call from "Dingo". He orders Dingo to find out what he can about the new cop, just as Cash tells Felicity he has taken the job. Back in uniform the next day, he drives past the graffitied sign welcoming him to his new precinct – "Mangrove River Sux", it reads. Will Cash regret taking a job in this town?

Xander hasn't heard from her either, but it strikes him as odd that she'd tell Bronte she was leaving and not he and Harper. Later, Xander tells Alf that he can't shake the feeling she's not okay.
