Irene introduces Dana to Bronte and asks her to show their new houseguest around the Bay. Dana is curious about the clinical trial in Canada, but Bronte bristles when she's put on the spot. When they run into Bree, Dana introduces the local urgent care doctor, suggesting she might be of help. A panicked Bronte quickly feigns being unwell.

The girls retreat to the Diner, where Irene reports that she's being sued for compensation by a victim of the contaminated water supply. Bronte's eyes light up when she hears that they're going for $50,000.

At dinner, Irene's hopeful that the insurance company will cover the loss, but Bronte drops a bombshell – she's just received some test results from the hospital, and her bloods tested positive for benzine, meaning she was poisoned by the Diner as well.

When Bronte she tells Irene that it's worsened her autoimmune disease, it doesn't sit right with Dana and she quizzes Bree on whether that's even possible. When Bree offers to walk her through her test results, Bronte quickly excuses herself and the first seed of doubt is planted for Dana.

Dana seeks out Bree the next morning and voices her suspicion of her new housemate, while a guilt-ridden Irene makes a shocking proposition to Bronte – she wants her to sue her.

Meanwhile, Kirby calls a house meeting. She has an email saying their rent is overdue – and Eden doesn't have an income to contribute. Eden still has her fight with Felicity on her mind, and when Cash goes in to vouch for her, it only makes matters worse.

Eden confides in Remi – she's sick of people keeping things from her, and she doesn't know who to trust. Felicity also rages at Cash, asking him to choose a side. When Eden and Cash talk that night, she bemoans that without the band, a job, or her best friend, she doesn't know what she's doing in the Bay any more.

Tuesday
Bree tries to talk a suspicious Dana down, explaining that a lot of terminal patients refuse treatment because they're sick of getting bad news. She even offers to look into the clinical trial if that will help quell Dana's gut feeling.

At home, Bronte continues to mislead Irene, claiming that she couldn't possibly sue her. Irene is resolute – pointing out that the other person is asking for $50,000, so why shouldn't Bronte?

Dana is understandably concerned to hear that Irene is inviting a lawsuit, and she makes no bones about outing the scheme to John when he drops by the house. She also shows Bree that the link to the mysterious trial in Canada is broken, which is further evidence that something is not right.

At home, Dana quizzes Bronte about the broken link and the trial itself, before boldly laying out her suspicions – that she's making her illness up. Bronte cries indignant before running to the bathroom. Irene walks in to hear Dana calling her out.

Bronte deftly plays the victim to a sympathetic Irene, who unleashes at Dana to stay out of it. When Dana offloads to Xander, she's disappointed by his response – he's with Irene on this one. As Bronte assures her mystery partner in crime that the money is on its way, Dana is right not to trust her – but will anyone believe her?

Meanwhile, Cash tells Eden that he's worried about her threats to leave the Bay, but assures her that he's on her side and wants to work things out. Felicity tells Remi and Xander that there's no point in trying to make up with Eden, who could win an Olympic medal for holding a grudge.

When the warring friends do come face to face, both agree they need to talk. They each apologise, and while Eden warns that she'll never be friends with Mackenzie or forgive her brother, she hopes they never fight again. The two friends hug it out.

Wednesday
Dana fills Harper in on her inkling that Bronte is conning Irene. Xander is firm when he tells her to drop it. Dana confides in John, but even he doesn't believe her, suggesting that her troubled childhood has led to jealousy of Bronte.

At the Coffee Cart, Dana quizzes Leah on how she feels about the lawsuit and accidentally spills the beans that it was Irene's idea. At home, Leah vents to Justin about Irene – she's really angry that her friend would put her in the position of being sued.

Dana grills Harper over whether she's heard from Tane, but Harper laments that he ignored her when they crossed paths earlier. At Salt, Tane's thumb hovers over Harper's contact in his phone but ultimately, he doesn't dial. Is he feeling the same way as Harper is about him?

When they get home, they sneak in, and Dana wants to sleep in Harper's room to avoid Irene and Bronte. She can't even stay at Xander's because she's not talking to him either. Harper offends her sister when she again doubts her crusade against Bronte, but she extends an olive branch in the morning, and even inspires her to make amends with Xander.

Harper, meanwhile, works up the courage to speak to Tane about their one-night stand, but she's crushed when he tells her he only wants to be friends. Will she go ahead with telling him how she really feels?

Meanwhile, Tane calls Roo to the gym, explaining that he's had an idea and he needs her help. When they meet with John later, he elaborates that he's learnt a lot on his community service and it's inspired him to start a fitness program for disadvantaged youths. He really believes that he can make a difference and Roo is enthusiastic. John adds that all they need to do is get the committee over the line.

Thursday
Mali has reached out to the Allens, wanting to return the $8,000 that Iluka "borrowed" from them. He reminds his brother that it's better than hiding from the Allens forever.

A woman approaches Mackenzie and Levi at the surf club, asking if they know Mali Hudson because she's looking to pick up a board. Mackenzie gives her their address, but the woman's intentions seem sinister when she returns to two men waiting outside and confirms she now knows where Mali lives.

Iluka brings Kirby a rose and he confides in her that he's considering giving up on his footy dream. Kirby is sympathetic and soon they're both leaning in for a kiss. Not long after, they're emerging from her bedroom – and she strongly suggests that he ignore his missed calls from Mali to spend time with her instead.

Mackenzie and Levi head home with a similar agenda, but both get a shock to find the house has been trashed. The woman they met earlier at the club is there to greet them, and insists they take a seat and surrender their phones as her henchman threatens them with a knife. They're the Allens – and they're here to get their money back.

Mali returns home to find Mackenzie tied up and gagged, but he says he'll talk about Iluka if they cut her free. They agree, but as they untie the couple, Levi lunges at their captors and a physical fight ensues.

As Mac rushes to her lover's side, she's horrified to realise that amidst the scuffle, he's been stabbed. She pleads with the Allens to call an ambulance, but they refuse to help until they can see Iluka. Mali's the only one who his brother will listen to, so it's down to him to make the call. Can they get help for Levi in time?

Friday
As Levi gasps for air in a devastated Mackenzie's arms, the Allens continue to demand that Mali calls Iluka. They manage to snatch his phone when he tries to call an ambulance himself.

Mackenzie scolds Mali over his delay in calling Iluka. Mali reluctantly gives into their demands. As they wait for Iluka to turn up, though, Levi's health takes a downward turn. When the Allens won't let him access his medical bag, he tells Mackenzie they'll improvise and asks her to get some cling wrap from the kitchen.

As Mali and Mackenzie tape up the puncture in his chest, Levi's breath returns, but he's still in terrible pain. Finally, Iluka arrives, and it's clear before too long that Nat's grudge is personal – she tells Iluka that he broke her heart. But he's less sentimental about their relationship – telling her to take her money and go.

Nat relishes being cruel when she tells them that she still won't call an ambulance, not until the money's counted. Levi again takes a turn and manages to sputter that he needs a cannula. Nat finally allows Mac to go to the medical bag, under the watch of one of her brothers.

Having retrieved it, Mackenzie pierces Levi's chest with the cannula and relieves the pressure. Finally, the Allens finish counting the money, and she is pleading for an ambulance when Mali offers himself and Iluka in exchange for help.

Nat insists that it was never about the money – it was about teaching someone there are consequences. They don't care about him, but they are taking Iluka. At the hospital, Levi is wheeled into theatre as Mackenzie snaps at Mali – he knowingly put them all in danger and now her partner is fighting for his life.

Meanwhile, Leah confronts Irene – asking how she could encourage someone to sue them. Irene tries to justify her position – explaining that she did it to try to get a sick woman some help, but Leah's adamant she should never have put their business at risk, let alone without consulting her first.

After receiving an email from the insurance company, Leah tells her business partner their claim has been rejected. Leah demands to know what Irene's plan is now.
