It's the morning after the night before for Xander and Dana. Mortified, Dana gathers her clothes in haste and sneaks out. She powers home but is spotted by Irene and Harper, which tips them off that this is the aftermath of a hot date. Dana's obvious avoidance of Xander in the Diner is confirmation for her sister.

Dana is in crisis mode, but Harper declines her request to retrieve the phone she left at Xander's. After another failure to recruit Irene to recover the phone, Dana admits her insecurities. She and Xander have been here before and she always gets burnt. When Harper reveals to Xander that she knows about his night with Dana, he arrives home to spring Dana retrieving her phone from his room.

Meanwhile, Cash and Eden celebrate the fact that Stevie Marlow's stalker is behind bars. Now Cash done with being Stevie's bodyguard, and she can finally rest easy. However, it isn't long into a romantic walk when Stevie herself pulls up in front of Cash and Eden. She's full of conviction – this time it's not about her stalker.

They sit down for a drink at Salt and Stevie explains she wants Cash to stay on as her personal security. He admits to Eden that he's tempted, but ultimately, he turns down Stevie's offer as Eden needs him right now. Stevie accepts but before she leaves, she's sure to remind Cash that this isn't a goodbye.

Elsewhere, Felicity approaches Harper, worried about Tane. Harper explains that Tane has got his court date in five weeks. With the best of intentions, Felicity approaches her ex to offer support. Tane resists at first, but soon opens up to her. He believes that if he shows remorse, he might get a lighter sentence, but the truth is he doesn't regret what he did. He's going to jail, probably for a long time, and he's scared.

Mackenzie admits to Mali that she's on tenterhooks waiting to hear from Levi, but she dares not call him in case he hasn't told his wife the truth yet. Mali convinces her otherwise, and when they do speak, Levi promises he's ending things with Imogen tomorrow, but is at odds with what approach to take.

Imogen returns from a conference, sensing her marriage is about to take a turn and tries to distract them both with breakfast, then delays with a shower. Eventually, Levi cuts through, declaring that they need to talk.

Tragically, Imogen thinks Levi's problems lie on the subject of having kids, making the truth even more crushing. He announces that he's having an affair and intends to leave Imogen.

Imogen's questions are overwhelming, but she ultimately tells him to pack his bags and get out. He's hesitant to leave her upset, but she insists that this isn't his home anymore. Finally, Levi comes home to Mac and the lovers embrace.

Meanwhile, Dana attempts to recover smoothly after being caught by Xander in his room. He tries to reassure her that he wanted her to stay and he was going to make her breakfast. They both clumsily try to ascertain if the other thinks it was a mistake, before Rose arrives and Dana makes an awkward exit.

Xander admits to Rose that he might actually like Dana, but questions if she feels the same. When he does try to talk to her, he's upfront – he was disappointed to wake up and find her gone, because he likes her. He also thinks they should be more than friends. It's exactly what Dana had been hoping for, and they seal the deal with a kiss.

Eden answers the phone to a distressed and angry Imogen in the wake of Levi's affair bombshell. She confronts Eden about being his cover story, and Eden admits that's true. But when she protests that she didn't know all along, Imogen refuses to listen.

It's only when Eden fronts up in person to declare that she'd also be happy to never see her brother again, Imogen crumbles. Talking through the affair, Eden reveals the other woman to have been Mackenzie and declares they're no longer friends as a result.

When Imogen finds a flicker of hope for her marriage, Eden sets Imogen straight and insists that she's better off without Levi. However, she promises to be there to support Imogen.

Mackenzie comforts Levi. Levi admits that he's worried about Imogen, but ignores Mac's advice to leave her be. When she presses, he snaps at her and warns not to tell him how to handle his marriage.

Once Levi has calmed down, he apologises to an understanding Mackenzie. They settle in for dinner when Eden lets herself in with a fierce warning. She insists that Levi should leave Imogen alone and stop pretending he cares. Levi is left feeling even worse.

Meanwhile, Theo has had his first counselling appointment since he stopped using drugs, and Leah checks in on how her nephew is doing. When she broaches the subject, Theo is candid about how the psychologist has suggested he simplify his life, and now he has some big decisions to make.

Leah and Justin draw the conclusion that he might want to scale back TAFE or his commitments at the garage, but he tells Justin that's not where he's feeling the strain. Instead, he needs to walk away from Lyrik.

Justin and Theo are on the beach when Kirby approaches, but Theo can't get away fast enough. Justin figures that he feels guilty about stepping back from the band.

Justin calls an emergency meeting with Remi to ask what is the worst case if Lyrik take another three months off. Soon Remi is reassuring Theo that he should go and take some time off, as the only musos still here are the ones who have looked after themselves.

Reluctantly, Theo agrees and tells Kirby his decision that afternoon. Theo's bandmates promise that they all have his back.

Meanwhile, Bree catches up with Remi to make it clear that she has no problem with him seeing Stevie. Remi, realising she saw Stevie's post, feels bad but is glad she's okay with it.

When she unpacks it later with Kirby, Bree again wants to stress how cool she is with her ex moving on. But Kirby draws a different conclusion – the fact they're even having this conversation just proves the opposite. Kirby says that Bree needs to get back out there and try new experiences – it's time to get over Remi.

Elsewhere, Roo shares some exciting news – she's decided to press ahead with becoming an emergency foster carer, inspired by baby Poppy and her mum, Sonia. She just wants Alf's blessing to open their home to children in need.

However, Alf is evasive, first using Marilyn as an excuse but is eventually caught out, revealing his true feelings. Roo is devastated when she overhears Alf expressing his concerns during a private phone call, referring to the whole enterprise as one of Roo's "little projects".

Bree struggles to leave Remi in the past, despite Kirby's attempts to encourage her to focus on her romantic future. But Bree and Kirby turn the other way when Stevie Marlow and her entourage arrive back in the Bay, and she is very much in Remi's arms.

Bree is looking for ways to help move on and her discussions with Kirby about the perfect boyfriend conclude such a man does not exist.

Late at night, Kirby catches Remi to ask his intentions with dating Stevie, but he's convinced through interactions with Bree they're both moving on. Kirby bashfully approaches Bree with this, but Bree has found a welcome distraction in a romantic stroll along the beach with the handsome film director, Nelson.

Meanwhile, Stevie puts Remi in charge of entertaining her film crew guests while she hatches a plan. She surprisingly shows up on Cash's doorstep, charming him into letting her take him for a drink. This turns out to be an ambush, as when Stevie and Cash arrive, she introduces him to her crew. Her true intentions are revealed to Cash: if he won't come to work with her as her security guard elsewhere, she'll bring the film to Summer Bay.

Cash explains that Stevie is safe now and she doesn't need him, but she won't let it go. She returns to him later, explaining that she only feels safe when Cash is around. Sure enough, Cash is shaking hands with the crew – more proof that Stevie Marlow always gets what she wants.

Elsewhere, Roo confronts Alf, concerned that his opinion about her foster caring is something he should have spoken to her directly about. They unpack his concerns for Roo taking on such a big responsibility given her history, but she takes it as a lack of faith in her.

It's later in the night when Roo makes her position on fostering clear. She insists this is not a decision based on a whim, and she won't be changing her mind on it. Over a cup of tea, Alf is reassuring – of course he's going to help her make this a reality.
